”Creating Values – Addressing Impact and Innovation in Horizon 2020”
International Training Event + Expert Panel Discussions
12th and 13th of May 2015
AUDITORIUM, VIVITE SENTER, THORMØHLENS GATE 51, MØHLENPRIS, BERGEN.
Day 1: International Training Event on 12 May 2015
Paving the route to successful exploitation, intellectual property (IP) takes an essential role in the entire life cycle of R&D projects funded through Horizon 2020. Proper IP management should therefore be carefully considered from the very beginning of a project.
The training will mainly focus on strategic IP and innovation management aspects as defining a credible strategy and “route to market” for potential research outcomes. The experts will address practical issues of IP exploitation preparing H2020 proposals as well as during and after the project. This includes best practice in capturing and assessing IP as well as developing the “business landscape” for the successful commercialisation of research results. Following a very practical and comprehensive training approach, participants will be made familiar with central concepts and strategies of how to turn intellectual assets into value-creating innovations.
Day 2: Expert Panel Discussions on 13 May 2015
Horizon 2020 is a very attractive and flexible programme to develop creative solutions to incorporate intellectual assets into proper business strategies. Horizon 2020 is very open for Business and calls for ideas and strategies to identify proper exploitation routes at consortium and/or individual participant level. However, experiences from the first rounds of calls for proposals clearly demonstrate that - far too often -proposers do not fully grasp the innovation dimension of Horizon 2020 projects and hence don’t meet the expectations of the European Commission and expert evaluators. Obviously, the first 18 months of Horizon 2020 implementation reveal a long list of misunderstandings, wrong interpretations and misperceptions reported by project participants in EU IPR Helpdesk training events and helpdesk services. Those could partially be reduced by improving communication, guidance and sharing best-practice in implementing innovation in Horizon 2020 projects.
The list of panelists will include evaluators on the one side as well as programme participants/proposers (SME/Academia) on the other side. The panel will be complemented by representatives of innovation support actions.
SMEs, research institutes, practitioners with concrete results from EU projects e.g FP, H2020, Eurostars etc.
The event is free of charge. However, a registration is mandatory.
The organisers of the training do not offer travel grants or any similar arrangements.
Registration is closed.
