Following to the publication of the EU Regulation No. 2015/2424 of the European Parliament and the Council amending the Community trade mark regulation, the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) will be called as the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the Community trade mark will be renamed as the European Union trade mark as of 23 March 2016.

The Amending Regulation is part of the EU trade mark reform legislative package comprising a new EU Trade Mark Directive and a series of amendments to the EU Trade Mark Regulation, which sets out the rules applicable to EU trade marks and to the Office.
