The first part of the revised European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) Guidelines has been adopted and will enter into force on February 1, 2017.

These Guidelines, which reflect EUIPO's practice in the most frequent scenarios, are the main point of reference for users of the European Union trade mark and design systems.

This revised version has been fully updated with case law from the Court of Justice of the European Union and from the EUIPO’s Board of Appeal, thus increasing consistency of trade mark and design practice as well as legal certainty for users.
