As a part of the Digital Single Market Strategy, the European Commission has proposed modern EU copyright rules for European culture to flourish and circulate.

The new proposals are believed to bring novel innovation tools for education, research and cultural heritage institutions by setting up clearer rules especially on online contents and services.

The Commission has adopted three proposals:

  • Better choice and access to content online and across borders
  • Improved copyright rules on education, research, cultural heritage and inclusion of disabled people
  • A fairer and sustainable marketplace for creators, the creative industries and the press
