IP and their corollaries, intangible assets, are estimated to contribute up to 80% to overall market capitalisation. Patents and other IP are more than just legal instruments - they have become true business tools.

This seminar explores the approaches and methods that have developed in practice to measure the value of patents. Topics such as challenges of IP valuation in a knowledge economy, income approaches to value patents, valuation context and valuation model, accounting and controlling for patents as well as markets for technology and patents in M&A transactionscover the main developments in measurement thinking, methods and practical applications.
