World Intellectual Property Day: 26 April 2012
On April 26th, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) celebrates the World Intellectual Property Day. According to WIPO’s Director General Francis Gurry, the “World Intellectual Property Day is an opportunity to celebrate the contribution that intellectual property makes to innovation and cultural creation – and the immense good that these two social phenomena bring to the world.”
Many events and activities will be organised during this month by WIPO and its Member States to raise the awareness of the importance of intellectual property. The European IPR Helpdesk will also make part of the celebrations in Luxembourg and in Poland, where the national patent offices are organising conferences dedicated to IP-related matters.
