The EPO recently published its newest Quality Report which focuses on the patent grant process and describes each stage of the grant procedure in detail. The report also contains data analyses at EPO sectors' level, describes the quality improvement measures conducted by the EPO and outlines the initiatives that are planned for the upcoming years.

According to the user feedback featured in the quality report, overall user satisfaction rates with the patent granting process in 2018 were at 76%, up slightly from 75% in 2015.

"This report provides our users with a full picture of the way quality is evolving at the EPO and a common basis on which we can continue to move forwards", said President António Campinos. "Quality is at the heart of our new Strategic Plan and by working with our users and cooperating with all our stakeholders, we now have an opportunity to raise our quality to another level altogether."
