About the Presenters
Koenraad Debackere (Ph.D.) is a professor of Technology and Innovation at the Faculty of Economics and Business of KU Leuven. His research has focused on the design of technology and innovation management practices and policies, the development of indicators for measuring the societal and economic impact of science and innovation policies, the role of entrepreneurial universities in economic development and the management and growth of technology intensive companies. Since 1999, he has been actively engaged in technology transfer activities as managing director of KU Leuven Research & Development. Over the last twenty years this has led to relevant experience with the development and growth of technology intensive, innovative entrepreneurial companies.
Peter Oksen (Ph.D) is Senior Program Officer at WIPO GREEN. He has more than 20 years’ experience in socio-economic development and natural resources management. He was associate professor in development studies at Roskilde University, Denmark before becoming managing director of a Laos-Australian consulting company. Before joining WIPO Green in 2018, he headed the Danida Environmental Support Programme in Indonesia and developed the environmental and social safeguard approaches and tools for the World Food Programme in Rome. At WIPO GREEN Peter is working with connecting innovative technological solutions to pertinent issues around climate change, food security, and the environment, and provides expert guidance. Peter is also the creator and owner of the website sustainablesuccessstories.org.
